Hi, Hello, How are you?

Thu Oct 8, 2009, 2:54 PM
I hope you're doing fine.

I suppose an update was in order, given that I last did so in June. Uh, let's see... I did go to see The Ring Cycle and it was pretty damn amazing. Just totally beautiful both musically and visually. It does drag on a bit at times, but definitely worth it overall.

I may be playing D&D again, with a mostly new group, so I'm rather excited about that. It's been close to a year I think since I've had a real campaign. Yay for nerds!

I have intentions of commenting on the stuff I've missed, and hopefully submitting more art (and ones that take more than half an hour, unlike the last two).

OMG OMG Opera!

Tue Jun 16, 2009, 2:35 PM
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! :iconexcitedplz:

Sorry, I'm excited. I was talking to a friend of mine back in Seattle and somehow we got to talking opera, of which I'm a big fan. I mentioned at some point that I'd always wanted to see The Ring Cycle (aka Der Ring Des Nibelungen) by Richard Wagner, and he said they're performing it at the Seattle Opera in August and there are still tickets for sale. After some squeeing and jumping about, we bought tickets and are going to see it 17th-22nd.

Now, if you don't know, the Seattle Opera is one of the best in the country, and pretty much world renown for their Wagner performances in particular. The opera itself is like 17 hours, and spread over four performances (technically separate operas but one continuous story arc). I'd been to the Seattle Opera a number of times when I lived there, but never managed to see this, partly because it's awfully expensive. I just spent over $1000 dollars on tickets. :paranoid:

If you want to know more about the opera, the Wikipedia article is a good read. In the meantime, I'll be spending the next two months jumping about in anticipation and also pondering what to wear. :excited:

Save the Whales or Let the Motherfucker Burn?

Hi there, how is everyone?

What's that? Oh, the title. Yes, I was considering doing a series of environmental type paintings, sort of a bad then good depiction. What do you think of that, bad idea, boring, awesome, who cares? I don't even know if I'll stick with it if I attempt it anyway, but it's a thought I suppose.

In other news, I've been playing Jade Empire again. I forgot how good this game was, the combat is so fun and the story is great. If you don't know, it's sort of a wuxia style RPG in a fictional oriental setting heavily reminiscent of early late imperial China. It's not anime based at all. Last time I took the "good" path, this time I'm being evil and wow, there's a lot of options to be a total jerk. Fun!

Stayin' Alive

Sat Apr 25, 2009, 9:41 PM
Hello everyone,

And by everyone, I mean the perhaps two people who will bother to respond to this after so much inactivity. I'm hoping to be more active now, though I can't promise I will, and I can't promise I'll try, but I'll try to try.

As you may have noticed, I submitted two things today, the result of endless slaving and hard work... Or maybe a few hours sitting in front of the computer while eating pecan sandies. Still, I'm sure you're amazed by my perseverance. =P

So, rather than talk about myself, which is certain to be dreadfully boring, how have you been, and what is the most awesome thing you have done since October. Besides, you know, getting to talk to me.

Hey There

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 8, 2008, 2:09 PM
Well, it seems like it's been quite some time since I've visited. I've been very busy with work, primarily. I miss hanging out with all you wonderful people! :crying:

Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future things will slow down, and I'll be back annoying you again. Anyway, that's about the extent of this journal...
